SoCo membership

Members should be committed arts practitioners and so applicants are required to submit a CV, images of recent work reflecting their current practice and a brief statement about their work (250 words max), also links to their website or other relevant projects they may have been involved with.

The SoCo Artists Committee discusses any new applications at their next committee meeting following submission. As such, applicants should allow between 4 – 6 weeks for processing, and will be notified by email.

SoCo Artists exhibitions are held in a variety of venues. Membership does not guarantee exhibition of work, but will entitle you to submit work for selection in SoCo Artists exhibitions.

It is a condition of exhibition that participating artists invigilate exhibitions as required by the project / exhibition.

Selection and hanging of work will always be the sole responsibility of the assigned SoCo Artists committee members, or appointed curators.

What we offer

SoCo Artists offers opportunities for artists to develop their practice through its core programme of exhibitions, workshops, talks and events. We also provide opportunities to collaborate with other artists. Members are entitled to reduced rates for SoCo Artists workshops and talks (those are open to the public), as well as reductions from several art suppliers. Members are encouraged to submit proposals for exhibitions, workshops or talks to the committee.

Members will be placed on our email list and kept informed of SoCo Artists exhibitions and events. They will be invited to attend annual general meetings and vote to elect committee members.

SoCo Artists are entitled to show their work on the SoCo Artists website under their individual profiles.
