Objects partake in all our lives and can become the custodians of our memories and dreams, good or bad; the souvenirs of our lives. Sinéid Codd responds to time and place through her relationship with objects. The found object, lost or discarded, which mirrors our own vulnerability, fascinates her.

Curiosity and experimentation with ideas, materials and processes drives Sinéid’s practice. New work can begin with finding a broken gasket lying on the road, or with a visit to a derelict building. Showing attentiveness to the power of colour, her work may respond to stimuli by echoing form in vibrant cut-out layers; or by combining materials and the actual thing. In images, assemblages and installations, the viewer is invited to pause, to look closer or through, and to navigate space as place.
